Marcus Schlosser from German online magazine recently reviewed the Phonitor mini. He seems to have liked it quite a bit and thinks it's a "versatile headphone amp":

"If you have a home studio you know what it's like: The room isn't acoustically treated, the speakers generate some weird resonances and it's hard not to ask yourself whether your setup is good enough to mix anything beyond midrange productions. Well, the small headphone amp from Niederkrüchten (Germany) might come in very handy in such cases. Its versatile and clever Matrix circuit provides a very realistic mixing environment even with headphones."

The 1400 visitors to this year's CanJam Europe set a new record. And we were obviously part of it.

This year, we took with us to Essen, Germany, our headphone amps Phonitor 2 (together with the new Expansion Rack), and Phonitor mini, as well as our USB Audio Interfaces and Monitor Controllers Creon and Crimson. Happily for us, lots of people were interested in listening to our gear and came by our stand to try them out.

You can read the full review fairaudio made (in German) of CanJam Europe here.

We have spent the last couple of weeks thoroughly testing our drivers for Windows 10.
And guess what? Both our Crimson and Creon drivers are very stable on Microsoft's latest operating system. So, since you probably have the most recent SPL driver version for Windows 7 or 8 already installed, you don't need to update your driver for Windows 10.

We wish you lots fun recording and listening to your music!

Our Phonitor series keeps on getting rave reviews everywhere. This time it was the Phonitor mini that got the accolades from a reviewer at Head-Fi.

“The soundstage is a big highlight of the amp. It's open, airy, and very much a more 3D experience...”

“Bass is deep and powerful, but not bloated or overblown.”

“The midrange is...very resolving with excellent detail and no emphasis on any given frequency.”

“Transparency in the treble is top notch and the general feeling of the treble is it's crisp without harshness.”

Dirk Sommer from German online magazine Hifi Statement reviewed the SPL Phonitor some years back. Now he decided to put our Phonitor 2 to the test. And it's not without excitement that he asserts:

You should definitely give at least a try to the Phonitor 2, even if you are not in the market for a headphone amplifier, but rather a honest, high-definition, balanced preamp for an unbeatable price."

"I can't really think of any other preamp at this price point that is so musical, clear and faithful as the Phonitor 2. And, to top it off, it's a headphone amplifier, too."

The IRON Mastering compressor combines not only the sonic virtues of legendary vintage tube compressors with the advantages of the High Dynamic 120V operating voltage in a single unit. It is also perfect for the needs of modern mastering studios and sets a new benchmark in terms of tube compressor technology, with the innovative implementation of a parallel dual-tube circuit.

Thanks to the especially conceived Mu-Metal iron transformers, the signal of each channel is split across two different twin-triode tubes. The combination of the different response curves of both tubes results in a transparent and musically pleasant compression. Additionally, peak signals of the control voltage are limited by a feed-forward resistive opto-isolator. Thus, the output signal remains lively even with a high gain reduction. The compression is only noticeable with extreme settings.
